Did I miss anything? :)

Kinja'd!!!

Anyways, the last 5 days were a blast. I grabbed some clothes, got into the car and drove about 3000 km around Uruguay and Argentina. No plans, no schedules, no routes, no nothing, just roads and towns and cities and beaches and more roads. One day I was lost at a rich people's beach called Punta del Este, the other I was at Montevideo and the next one I was overhearing conversations in ten different languages at a parrilla in Buenos Aires while eating the largest, juiciest steak I've ever seen and then, on the next and final day, I crashed at a tiny, hidden beach called Punta del Diablo which is more like heaven than hell.

And then there were the cars. You can't go ten miles in Uruguay without spotting throngs of desirable vintage iron in different states of cosmetic disrepair, but most still running. F-100s from the mid 50's are ubiquitous, as are Ford Falcons of different decades. Hillman Hunters, Fiat 500s, Dodge GTXs and Opels from the 50's to the 80's are also common sight. 1940's Fords dot the roads and, on the boat to Buenos Aires, there was a concours perfect 1937 Ford. The day I got to Buenos Aires, I saw not one, but two Novas fighting for space at rush hour Cordoba avenue, a light blue sedan which had seen better days and a brand new Serie 2 Opus, just like the one pictured, and in my second day there, when I drove and walked a good part of the Palermo, Santelmo, Puerto Madero and Recoleta neighboorhoods, I spotted all kinds of vintage euro Fords, Sierras and Taunus included, 80's Toyota Celicas and a handful of Falcons and Chevys mingling with regular everyday traffic. I couldn't get pictures of most of them due to driving at the moment, but it was awesome...

The worst part was getting home. Brazil looks even crappier by comparison after you've been to Uruguay and Argentina, two countries which are supposedly, poorer than Brazil. They might not have much, but they take much more care of what they own.

Nice! Sounds like you had fun. I'd seriously have a panic attack if I ever missed more than 12 hours of oppo, so by my point of view you've missed a lot.

Move to America! We have desserts!

Hopefully I will someday. And then I'll set out from one coast to the other just like that!

I haven't to be honest... If I ever do a coast to coast run, I wanna do it with as little prior knowledge as possible.

That's what it is kinda. You don't know where you're headed to until right when you're leaving, they hand you the little card that says where to go, as you're pulling out.
